Title IV-A for Public & Nonpublic Schools

Title IV, Part A is a newly authorized subpart of the ESEA. It is titled the Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) program. The SSAE program is intended to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing the capacity of State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and local communities to provide all students with access to a well-rounded education; improve school conditions for student learning; and improve the use of technology to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

WHICH SCHOOLS CAN RECEIVE TITLE IV-A FUNDING FROM SCS?
Public & Nonpublic (private or parochial) schools located within Sandusky City Schools limits are entitled to receive an equitable, proportionate share of Title IV-A funding from SCS.

WHAT TYPE OF ACTIVITIES CAN TITLE IV-A FUNDING PROVIDE?
Title IV Part A allows for activities focused on the three allowable categories of services: 1) well-rounded educational opportunities, 2) safe and healthy students, and 3) effective use of technology. Funds may be used for a wide variety of activities within each content area, including, but not limited to, direct services for students, professional development for teachers and administrators, carrying out identified programs and services, and supplemental educational resources and equipment.
