Sandusky Early Learning Academy

The Sandusky Early Learning Academy is a part of our "Building Better Dreams Facilities Project". It is located on the former Hancock Elementary School Site. In the Summer of 2020, work began on Hancock Elementary, preparing it to be demolished to allow for construction to begin for what will be called the Sandusky Early Learning Academy. This building will house students in Preschool and Kindergarten. Preschool and Kindergarten will attend school at the former Mills Elementary Building until this project is complete in 2022.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to Continue at Sandusky City Schools

While Congress did not extend the free meals for all students program for the 22-23 school year, students attending the seven Sandusky City Schools participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will continue to receive free meals without the requirement of completing a free & reduced priced meals application.

- CEP is a provision that allows eligible schools to offer meal service to students at no charge for lunch and breakfast.

- CEP allows schools that predominately serve low-income children to offer free, nutritious school meals to all students through the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.

- CEP used information from other programs including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

The seven Sandusky City CEP schools are:
- Sandusky Early Learning Academy
- Sandusky Primary School
- Sandusky Intermediate School
- The Regional Center for Arts & Academic Studies
- Sandusky Middle School
- Sandusky High School
- Sandusky Digital Learning Center

Changes to Summer Meals

Congress recently extended free meals to all students for the summer. Instead of having to consume meals on site, students now have a 'Grab & Go' option. Students must be present at the time of pick-up. Parents are not permitted to pick up meals without their student present. The meals include a lunch and breakfast for the following morning. We encourage all students 18 and under to take advantage of these free meals. You can also call the locations below to let them know you are picking up meals for your students.

Meals can be picked up a the following locations from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm:

Sandusky Primary School (SPS)
924 Ontario St.
Phone number: 419-984-1319

Sandusky Intermediate School (SIS)
2020 Hayes Ave.
