TITLE IIA

Title IIA for Public & Nonpublic Schools

Public & Private school teachers, principals, and other educational personnel are eligible to participate in Title IIA to provide for professional development allocated from the Ohio Department of Education. Funds awarded to the State of Ohio and SCS under Title IIA are subject to the uniform provisions for Section 9501 of the ESEA.  This statute requires SCS to provide private school children, their teachers, and other educational personnel with educational services on an equitable basis and in a timely manner.

WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES DOES TITLE IIA FUNDING PROVIDE?
The professional development activities of each school vary by school based upon the student needs assessment of each school. During the program development process, SCS works with each public & private school to identify the needs of teachers and students, what services can be offered, how services will be delivered, when services will be delivered, how results will be assessed, and how decisions are made about the delivery of services.

WHICH SCHOOLS CAN RECEIVE TITLE IIA FUNDING FROM SCS?
Public & Nonpublic (private or parochial) schools located within Sandusky city limits are entitled to receive Title IIA funding from ODE.
