Medical Assisting & Phlebotomy

Medical Assisting & Phlebotomy
Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy

Medical Assisting & Phlebotomy is expected to be one of the fastest growing occupations with an increase of about 29 % over the next ten years.

Medical Assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Their duties vary with the location, specialty and size of the practice but generally include greeting, scheduling, rooming a patient, assisting with minor surgical procedures, taking vital signs and scribing.

Phlebotomists draw blood for tests, transfusions, research or blood donations.

Here's the Scoop

The American Medical Technologist (AMT) was founded in 1939.  It is nationally and internationally recognized certification.  There are over 60,000 certified members.  When you complete the program and pass the certification examination, you will add to your signature the letters “RMA”  Registered Medical Technologist or “RPT” Registered Phlebotomy Techncian.

  • You can be doubly certified in both Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy. Your tuition pays for one examination.
  • You can take the certification examination at the Sandusky City Schools. No traveling required.
  • 100 % passage of the certification examination and 100 % job placement.
