article object Class of 2020 Sandusky High School Graduation Information
Following the guidelines set by Governor DeWine, The Ohio Department of Education, and the Erie County Health Department, Sandusky City Schools will hold an Interval Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2020. The health and safety of students and the community are the highest priority of Sandusky City Schools.

This commencement ceremony will be a mix of in-person and virtual activities. Students will sign up for a graduation appointment during the week of May 11th by visiting https://tinyurl.com/pickmytimeSHS20. Students will be able to choose a 5-minute time frame between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on either Tuesday, May 26th, Wednesday, May 27th, or Thursday, May 28th to complete their commencement ceremony.

When completing the appointment form, students will have three options to choose from; Option 1 - [ATTEND & APPEAR IN VIDEO] Pick a timeslot to receive a diploma at Cedar Point Stadium [this will be packaged into the video], Option 2 - [NOT ATTEND - BUT APPEAR IN VIDEO] Submit a picture in cap & gown for use in the video production, Option 3 - [OPT OUT] Choose NOT to take part in any graduation ceremonies and diploma available for pickup in June. Having these options available allows Sandusky City Schools to meet the needs of every student who is graduating.

article object Commencement 2020
Edison Local Schools, Huron City Schools, Perkins Local Schools, and Sandusky City Schools – have come together to present plans for their individual 2020 commencement ceremonies. The collaboration of the four districts ensures that students across our region have the best possible graduation experience under the unique circumstances currently impacting the state and nation. The individual school districts have collaborated with their senior classes, administrators, parents, and community members to finalize ceremony plans that will honor the individual
district’s traditions. The plans have been submitted for consideration and review by the Erie County Health Department.

Perkins Local Schools, Huron City Schools, Edison Local School, and Sandusky City Schools each will host single-family, in-person graduation ceremonies. The plans were created by the individual districts with the guidance issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio
Department of Health during the week of April 27.

“We are proud to partner with our area schools as we collaborate to ensure that the graduation ceremonies adhere to state guidelines, ensure safety for our students and families, and maintain the pride, tradition, and spirit of excellence for the Sandusky City Schools,” Dr. Eugene Sanders said. The ceremonies will allow the graduating senior and a limited number of family members to partake in this time-honored tradition.
