Sandusky City Schools is thrilled to announce that Sandusky Early Learning Academy has been honored with the prestigious Governor’s Science of Reading Recognition Program. This recognition celebrates the school’s dedication to providing high-quality literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading. 

"Reading is a right, not a privilege, that opens endless opportunities for our children,” stated Chris Norwell-Fischer, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “By mastering foundational reading skills through the Science of Reading, our students gain access to a world of knowledge, critical thinking, and lifelong success. This ensures they are prepared not only for academic excellence but also to be productive and engaged members of our community.” 

Sandusky Early Learning Academy received official notification from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce acknowledging our proven commitment to literacy.
