SCS Preschool Recognized as a Quality Learning & Development Program

In recognition of a commitment to quality and an ongoing dedication to the learning and development of children, Sandusky City Schools has received a Five-Star Step Up To Quality Award from the State of Ohio.

Step Up To Quality is Ohio’s rating system for learning and development programs. Participating programs can earn a one-to five-star rating.

In addition to meeting all standards of a five-star rating, programs with five stars may also:

· Have lower staff/child ratios.

· Use child assessment results to plan activities that best support learning and development goals for each child.

· Share assessment results and create goals for children.

· Develop plans to support children as they transition to a new classroom or educational setting.

· Work with other organizations or businesses within the community to support children and their families.

· Have an active and organized parent volunteer group.

· Use input from families and community partners’ to inform the program’s continuous improvement process.

· Have accreditation by an approved organization.

Vaccination Clinic Interest Form

The Erie County Health Department will be allocating a portion of their COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine supply to be used to partner with local employers and school districts to vaccinate their employees and/or students. Parents/Families, please complete this survey to help us gauge the interest in our families potentially receiving a COVID-19 Vaccine at a clinic hosted by Sandusky City Schools. This clinic would allow these age-appropriate students to receive the vaccination. Students who are of the age 16 and 17 must have a parent present to receive the vaccination. An Update from Dr. Sanders

Check out this district update from Dr. Sanders regarding 4th quarter transitions, updates, and events. Mr. Talbot also provides additional details for SHS events, including graduation. 

As a part of our updated COVID-19 communication for the 4th quarter of the school year, we will be transitioning to a weekly reporting system beginning next week. Every Friday, we will send out a COVID-19 report summarizing any cases reported for the week.
