GED Test Registration

Registration for the GED test is now solely online.  Sandusky Career Center is no longer authorized to give out paper applications.

Students needs to visit http://www.ode.state.oh.us/, the Ohio Department of Education website, to register for the GED test.

Instructions to register are as follows:

- Under the "Families" column, click the GED link
- Click on the GED Web Application Sign In (SAFE) link
- Set up an account if necessary (driver's license/state ID along with a valid email address is needed)
- Complete the application using a credit card
- If the student is paying by money order, then go back to the GED main page and click on the GED Application, Age Waiver, and Parental Consent forms link to open and print the necessary forms

After the student has registered online, the student will then need to call the Sandusky Career Center at 419-625-9294 to schedule their official testing date and time.

* Applying for the GED test online will save time - Beginning in January 2012 only online applications will be accepted.

* On January 1, 2014, the revised GED test will be given only on the computer and will cost more.  Adults have two years to prepare and test with the current GED test that costs $40.00.

* Sandusky Career Center does not retain copies of GED transcripts.  The student will need to contact State of Ohio regarding their GED transcript.  The State of Ohio phone number can be found on the website to the right of the page; a transcript request form can also be found to the right of the page.
