Pharmacy Technician

Train for an exciting new career as a Pharmacy Technician assisting a licensed pharmacist. This course will prepare you to enter the pharmacy field in a hospital or community pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The student is eligible for national certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon successful completion of the course. Students will obtain information on registering for the PTCB test from the instructor.

Duties can include:
  • Record prescription information from customers or health care professionals
  • Measure medications
  • Package & label prescriptions
  • Organize inventory & alert pharmacist of supply needs
  • Enter client & patient information into the computer system
  • Accept payment & process insurance claims
  • Customer service
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and no conviction record of a pharmacy or drug-related misdemeanor.
