Minutes of September 12, 2011 Blue Streak Booster Meeting

Meeting called to order at 6:08 p.m. by President Vincent Rhodes
Secretary Report– mother by Jim Corso to dispense reading minutes as copies were provided, 2nd by John McKenna. Motion passed. Motion by Jackie Collins to Accept, 2ndby Paul Wilke. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report– Paul Wilke
Provided copies of Balance Sheet as of September 12, 2011. Blue Streak Booster Club Quick Report for Turf Project and BSBC Profit and Loss dated July, 2010 to June 2010. Motion by Jackie Collins to Accept, 2ndby John McKenna. Motion Passed.
Correspondence– Thank you note from class of 2011 Booster Club Scholarship recipient, Dominic Will.
Coach’s Report– Girls Basketball: Coach Badamy for Coach Venerucci – Read a letter from Coach Venerucci. Girls Basketball was involved in some summer shoot-outs. They travelled to Tiffin University and Cleveland State. They had a five team scrimmage at SHS. Pre-season conditioning starts next Monday. He was approached by Steve Snyder and Brett Kinzel regarding a new youth program housed at the YMCA. He requested the support of the Booster Club. Grades 1-4 girls will play three times per week for six weeks. They are also looking for someone to coach 1st-4thgrades (It was decided that a meeting would be set up between the Basketball coaches, the AD, and the Booster Club.) . The season opener is against Amherst Steele. Boys Basketball: Coach Keller – Open gym is under way. Swimming: Coach Patterson – Open pool started today. Football: Coach Franklin – Brief on the start of the season. Currently 2-1 and take on Toledo Start this Friday, September 16, 2011.
AD Report–
Susan Sackett thanked all involved in the Dedication of the Turf ceremony. Susan gave a briefing of the fall sports for Jr. High and High School. She reported that we need a chairman for the Homecoming Parade on October 6th. She reported that we need to begin planning of the Bonfire for the eve of Game 10 against Bellevue. She would like to include a Punt, Pass and Kick fundraising contest prior to the bonfire.
Committee Report–
*Elementary School Sports– Beth Collins – The season is underway.
*Festival of Lights– Jackie Collins – Tickets will be available soon.
*Membership– no report.
*Commemorative Bricks– no report
*Newsletter-The fall edition has been printed and mailed.
Old Business– None
New Business- Lani Jensen – Pep Club Director – Requested reimbursement of $266.46 for Spirit Button supplies. Motion by Susan Sackett, 2ndby John McKenna. Motion passed. Vincent Rhodes – Executive Board Search – Someone is needed to head this up. Motion by Jim Corso, 2ndby John McKenna, for Jules Bahnsen to head up this search - Committee Chairs. Motion passed. Motion by Jackie Collins, 2ndby Jeremy Bahnsen, to draft a letter to the School Board asking them to accrue funds for the replacement of Turf at Strobel Field when needed. Motion passed.
