An Important Message from Dr. Eugene Sanders

Last night, I received a communication that there was a Facebook post regarding a threat to Sandusky High School. School leaders and local safety forces were aware of this threat that was made approximately two weeks ago. I spoke with the high school leadership team and local law enforcement officials and we were confident there was no threat to the high school. Today, our high school staff spoke with several parents regarding safety at the high school and assured everyone that school was safe and we had a very productive academic day.

We take any threat to the safety of our students, faculty and staff very seriously. Please feel free to report any concerns to any staff member, school administrator, or directly to me at ASKDRSANDERS@SCS-K12.NET.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and the goal is to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages. While the entire Sandusky City Schools district works hard every single day to ensure that students accelerate academically, the safety and well-being of our students is a top priority. Bullying and cyberbullying affect a student’s ability to focus on learning and to succeed in the classroom and beyond. These inappropriate behaviors are a concern to all of us who work with students on a daily basis. Recent events in the news remind us of the tragic impact that this harassment can have on students. Below you will find important terms and resources that are available to educators, parents and students to enhance students’ experiences at Sandusky City Schools. We have a zero tolerance for bullying and all incidents should be reported to the principals, counselors, and/or the school resource officer.
