Sandusky City Schools to Open Regional Center Aimed for Gifted Students
The Sandusky City Schools will open an innovative center that will respond to the unmet demand in our region for full-time gifted services to students in grades 4-6. The Regional Center for Advanced Academic Studies will provide a world class education to identified gifted students through innovative curriculum and instructional methods designed to meet the individual needs of each student. The Regional Center for Advanced Academic Studies will serve gifted students who are identified as Superior Cognitive Math or Reading. The Regional Center will be the only school of its organizational design in our region and one of the few in the state of Ohio that will offer full-day everyday gifted instruction by fully licensed Gifted Intervention Specialists. The Regional Center will open on August 26, 2013 and transportation will be provided in accordance with district policy.

The Regional Center for Advanced Academic Studies will partner with Bowling Green State University Firelands and the Sandusky Community Foundation and other agencies throughout the region to form unique opportunities for our students.
